Snow has closed a number of major roads across mid and south Wales and drivers have been advised to avoid travelling today.
The A483 is closed between Crossgates and Newtown while the A40 between Brecon and Crickhowell is also closed as is the A470 Brecon to Builth Wells.
Other routes blocked or closed are the A470 from Cefn Coed, Merthyr Tydfil to Brecon and the A479 Nantyfin to Bronllys.
The Welsh Government’s North & Mid Wales Twitter account tweeted: "A lot of drifting snow in Mid Wales causing adverse driving conditions - Our advice is to avoid travelling today."
A Yellow – Be Prepared – weather warning for snow and ice remains in place.
Powys County Council announced yesterday it had cancelled all its home to school transport for Friday.
Public transport has also been cancelled across the region today.
Bus firm Stagecoach Wales said it has suspended all its services, which includes the T4 Newtown to Cardiff bus.
It said: "All services suspended & with a forecast of more snow, it looks unlikely we’ll be able to operate for the rest of the day." It said it would use its @StagecoachWales Twitter account to issue updates.
The NAT Group, which operates the T6 Traws Cymru bus that operates between Swansea, Ystradgynlais and Brecon, has also announced it has suspended services.
Arriva Trains Wales said it has cancelled all its services on the south of its network today, including the Heart of Wales Line.
100 schools across Powys, including all secondary schools in Brecon and Radnorshire, are closed today.
The NPTC College has also announced all its campuses are closed.
Powys council has said all its household waste and recycling centres are closed today to protect staff and the public. The council has said they will remain closed over the weekend unless there is a "significant improvement" in the weather.
The council has also said it is experiencing a high number of calls due to the extreme weather and has asked people to only contact it if their call is urgent as it only has limited staff to answer calls.
Powys Health Board has said some services are likely to be disrupted today due to the weather.
Wye Valley NHS Trust, which operates Hereford County Hospital, said it has taken the decision to postpone some non-urgent planned surgery and outpatient appointments due to take place on Friday, March 2.
The decision has been taken due to the weather conditions, which is highly likely to result in some staff not being able to get to work and some patients having difficulty attending their appointments.
The trust is busy contacting patients whose procedures and appointments have been postponed. Patients due to undergo urgent planned procedures or urgent appointments who have not been contacted should attend as planned.
Health bosses at the trust have asked that staff having difficulty getting in to work make contact with the managers of their teams or departments as early as possible. The trust is working with the local 4X4 volunteer group to transport staff where roads are impassable due to snow.
Jon Barnes, chief operating officer, said: "If you work at the Trust and will struggle to get into work tomorrow, March 2, and this weekend, please let us know as early as possible. If you’re a patient, we’re open for urgent care and treatment, but if your surgery or appointment has been postponed, you will have been contacted.
"If you haven’t been contacted, please assume that your procedure will be going ahead as planned."
