A Lllangammarch Community Councillor and avid volunteer has been recognised for her efforts by the Chairman of Powys County Council.

Mairwen Price has received a Silver Kite Award from Cllr Gwynfor Thomas for the sterling work she has carried out within her community, as a councillor over the past 52 years, and as a volunteer.

Ms Price has supported the residents of Llangammarch by providing meals and home visits as a prescription volunteer collector.

She has also volunteered and provided great support to many organisations such as the Builth Wells Hospital League of Friends, British Heart Foundation, Builth Wells Community Support Group and also as a fundraiser for the Builth Wales Male Voice Choir.
