Train services on the Heart of Wales line are disrupted this morning due to a tree blocking the railway at Llanbister Road.

Transport for Wales said services may be delayed or cancelled in both directions between Swansea and Shrewsbury.

The incident is expected to last until midday, with disruption to services also expected until that time.

Limited road transport is operating between Swansea and Shrewsbury to assist customers in completing their journeys at no extra cost until midday. The replacement services are being provided by Lakeside Coaches, AC Jenkins and Gower.

Passengers are being advised that road transport will take longer than rail services and to allow extra time for their journey.

Transport for Wales said further information will be published once an update has been received from Network Rail technicians and apologised for the disruption.
