A convenience store, Post Office and café in Talybont-on-Usk has been sold to new owners.

Talybont stores has been sold by specialist business property adviser, Christie & Co.

Due to its varied offerings and spacious café area, the store is also considered a hub for local people.

Talybont Stores was previously owned and operated by Robert Jones, who sold it in order to retire and move abroad.

Talking about the sale, Mr Jones said: “Joe at Christie & Co was recommended to me by a friend at my local cash and carry, l decided to contact them for an initial conversation.

“During the whole process, Joe was at the end of a phone and took a lot of pressure off us, right up to the day of completion.”

The new owners have just moved to the area and plan to run Talybont Stores as a family business. They have previous experience in retail and plan to continue to run the store while also looking to expand.

Joe Brayne, Senior Business Agent at Christie & Co who handled the sale, said: “It was a pleasure working with both parties to satisfactory completion. We had a number of viewings and multiple offers which shows how attractive the business and area are.”
