A PANTOMIME in Builth Wells raised £12,000 which will be split between charities, good causes and the hall where it was staged.
The Builth Wells Young Farmers’ Club Old Stagers performed their pantomime The Good, The Bad and the Ugly Sisters to sold-out audiences at the Strand Hall before Christmas.
The pantomime was the first performance to be staged at the hall since it reopened and the £12,000 raised has been been divided between The Strand Hall, Builth Wells YFC, Cancer Research UK, Marie Curie Cancer Care and the Macmillan cancer charity.
The pantomime’s writer and director David Price said: “The pantomime was a wonderful opportunity to bring together past members, parents and friends of the club. The Old Stagers last performed in 1998 and the reopening of the Stand Hall provided the perfect excuse to perform again.”
He thanked everyone who had supported the pantomime including the numerous sponsors who helped to contribute to the “amazing figure” of £12,000 being raised.
