Theatr Brycheiniog is on the hunt for a new Chief Executive to help shape its future.

The Brecon theatre has launched a recruitment campaign to find a visionary leader with the drive and imagination to guide the theatre through its next chapter.

The post comes after a period of major transformation for the venue, including a £2 million capital upgrade, a new 25-year lease and a refreshed artistic programme under interim leadership.

The role will involve overseeing the theatre’s strategic development, strengthen its financial resilience, and champion inclusive cultural practice.

“This is a rare opportunity to lead a much-loved cultural institution into a vibrant and sustainable future; one where creativity thrives, people connect, and where the arts and culture play a vital role in the lives of our communities,” said Andy Collinson, Chair of Trustees at Theatr Brycheiniog.

“We are looking for someone to lead that change; someone who can turn vision into action, who’s ready to reimagine what a theatre can be, not just as a venue, but a creative hub, a civic space, and a cultural home for all.”

The ideal candidate for the role will possess senior-level experience within the arts or charitable sector, coupled with strategic thinking and strong entrepreneurial drive. They will demonstrate proven skills in fundraising and financial management, alongside a collaborative and empowering leadership style. The candidate must show a commitment to public value and the role of culture in place-making.

Theatr Brycheiniog is committed to building a diverse and inclusive organisation. It welcomes applications from people with lived experiences of disability and neurodiversity, socio-economically marginalised communities and from the global majority.

Applications for this role are open until Tuesday, August 26.
