A yellow weather warning for thunderstorms has been issued for the whole of Brecon and Radnorshire today.

The Met Office warning is in place from 3pm until midnight and covers much of Wales along with parts of south west England.

Forecasters say thunderstorms are expected to develop later this afternoon and into the evening following another hot day across the country.

While many places may avoid the worst of the weather, the Met Office has warned that some areas could see disruption where storms do develop.

Heavy downpours, frequent lightning, large hail and strong gusty winds are all possible.

The Met Office said: “After another hot day, thunderstorms are expected to develop across parts of Wales as well as some western and southwestern parts of England during this afternoon and through the evening. While many places will miss the worst conditions, where thunderstorms do occur they bring the potential for torrential downpours of rain, frequent lightning, large hail and strong, gusty winds.”
