A STUDENT from Breconshire has described her teaching trip to Africa as 'life-changing' and says children in the UK have no idea how lucky they are.

Trainee teacher Rosemarie Williams says she is now more determined than ever to pursue a career in education overseas after spending the last few weeks working with pupils in the South African country of Lesotho.

The 20-year-old said: "We taught in a blind school and an orphanage while in rural Lesotho we would have to walk over an hour to get to school and children would be sharing pencils worn down to the nibs, but it's nothing to them. Childrens in the UK don't appreciate what they have while children out there are so appreciative and value everything."
