A TWELFTH NIGHT musical celebration is being held at The Muse in Brecon on Saturday night to help raise money for people struggling with their mental health.

The Friends of Brecon and District Mind are organising the event at the music and arts venue in Glamorgan Street in Brecon on June 6.

The event will start at 7.30pm and features the Tea-on-Top group, comprising well-known local musicians Laurie Pyle, Ade Williams, Jan Hurst and Jamie Huish.

The quartet are also regular members of local bands the Dolphins and Hershel’s Barn.

The Tea-on-Top group performs at the Friends’ annual Tea-on-Top walk at the end of July to the top of Pen-y-Crug, Brecon, set against the dramatic backdrop of the Brecon Beacons.

On Twelfth Night the group will play lively sets of bluegrass and other musical styles, including Irish folk music which is sure to get people up and dancing.

The festivites may involve a few games and, if anyone feels sufficiently moved, some open-mic winter poetry.

There will also be a finger buffet to which participants are encouraged to bring along a contribution although this is not essential as there will be food laid on. There will also be a bar and soft drinks.

A warm welcome is extended to everyone. Tickets for the event cost £5 (£3 for Friends).

The Friends support the work of Brecon and District Mind and raise awareness of mental health issues in and around Brecon, Crickhowell, Talgarth and Hay-on-Wye. for more information about Brecon Mind call 01874 611529 or visit www.breconmind.org.uk.
