The A470 at Newbridge-on-Wye is due to close overnight for almost two weeks while works are carried out on or near the trunk road.

The Welsh Government has proposed a temporary traffic order banning all vehicles from using the A470 between its junction with the C1210 road to Brynwern and a point 50 metres north of the B4358 junction.

The closure is expected to operate from 7pm to 7am each night between September 14 and 26.

A diversion will be in place for traffic. Northbound vehicles will be directed along the A470 to Llanelwedd, before joining the A483 towards Llandrindod Wells.

The diversion will continue via the Ddole Road Enterprise Park roundabout and the A4081 to Dolyfan, where traffic will rejoin the A470.

Southbound traffic will follow the same route in reverse.

Any changes to the planned dates or times will be announced through temporary traffic signs before the work begins.
