CONCERNS have been raised over the future of leisure provision at Brecon's proposed super school site ahead of a public consultation event.

Powys County Council and the NPTC College Group are developing plans for a combined high school and further education college, including community leisure facilities, on the site of the existing leisure centre.

Work on the £75 million 'Brecon Learning Campus' could start in April 2015 with the new facilities completed by September 2017.

But there is concern that the leisure centre would be smaller than the current building and uncertainty over what provisions will be made during the construction period.

The college and council are hosting a drop in event from 3pm to 7pm at Brecon High School on Wednesday, November 6 where staff will be available to discuss the project. Members of the public will also be able to give their thoughts on the concept.
