A SPECIAL birthday party was held for Llandrindod woman Vera Vaughan who celebrated her 105th birthday this week.
Vera, who was born and grew up in Llandrindod Wells, has lived at Christchurch Court for the past 30 years. To mark the occasion, the local branch of the Visually Impaired Club arranged a party, during which Jimmy Layton, the club’s chairman, presented Vera with a sash, saying Miss Christchurch 2017.
The mayor of Llandrindod Wells, Cllr Jon Williams, also attended the party and presented Vera with a birthday card and flowers from the town council.
Vera used to be a ladies fashion retailer in the town.
