Cwmdu Village Hall has successfully applied for £8,690 from The National Lottery Community Fund.

The money will go towards extending the kitchen to improve facilities at the hall - making it more attractive and allowing more events to be held in the space.

Chris Evans, chair of the hall committee, welcomed the grant, saying:

“We are very pleased to have the support of The National Lottery for our kitchen extension project. It will make all the difference in getting the work completed this year. After the last 18 months of COVID-19, hall usage and hence income was very low, this is a critical boost to our finances.”

Rob Roffe, head of Mid and West Region Wales, at The National Lottery Community Fund in Wales said:

“National Lottery players raise over £30 million each week for good causes throughout the UK. The grant for Cwmdu Village Hall to improve their facilities will mean the community can make the most of the hall.

“Eight in ten of our grants are for under £10,000 – going to grassroots groups and charities across the UK, like Cwmdu Village Hall, that are bringing to life amazing ideas that matter to their communities.”
