Western Beacons Mountain Rescue Team were called out yesterday (Tuesday, 30 May) by the Welsh Ambulance Service NHS Trust to assist with the rescue of a teenage girl from a river.

She had been washed over several small waterfalls.

Once she was rescued from the water, the casualty was treated for possible spinal injuries.

The team worked with Gwasanaeth Tan ac Achub CGC / MAWW Fire and Rescue firefighters to recover the casualty on a stretcher to the roadside.

She was then taken to hospital by an ambulance.

A spokesperson for Western Beacons Mountain Rescue Team said: "We wish the casualty a speedy recovery."
