During a huge weekend in the music world, The Muse was arguably the place to be on Sunday night as Massachusetts band, Misty Blues, entertained a packed crowd.

The Mid Wales Rhythm and Blues Club in association with RockinNights Promo and The Muse Brecon hosted Misty Blues’ first ever performance on Welsh soil.

The blues band based out of Berkshire County, Massachusetts are led by lead singer and band founder Gina Coleman who impressed the audience with her vocals and engaged with the crowd between songs.

Coleman was joined on stage by her son Diego Mongue who wowed the crowd on bass along with guitarist Seth Fleischmann, saxophonist Aaron Dean, drummer Rob Tatten and David Vittone on keys.

The ever-talented group are currently on a UK tour with performances in Dublin, London and more. The band has been performing for 25 years and believe they can keep going for another 25.

The states-based band seemed to take a shine to Brecon and enjoyed a meal at Brecon Tap prior to their concert. Drummer Rob Tatten even told the crowd: “I’d move here in a heartbeat! And I do not say that about everywhere we go. I did not enjoy yesterday.”

Along with tracks from the new album, Misty Blues rounded off their performance with their own version of a few Willie Dixon classics.

A standing ovation was awarded to Misty Blues at the conclusion of the event as Gina Coleman thanked organisers and the audience for a wonderful night.

Angus Kings from Mid Wales Rhythm and Blues Club said: “What a band! This club has been running for eleven and a half years and we haven’t had many better bands than that perform here. From the moment these guys got into the building this afternoon, they could not have been nicer, so thank you so much guys.”

Gina Coleman said: “We cannot thank you guys enough for having us here and Yvette (Jenkins from RockinNights Promo), thank you so much for connecting us. This is a wonderful town.”
