FOUR mountain rescue teams helped a woman who’d injured her leg after falling while coming down from Pen y Fan.
The Brecon, Central and Western Beacons mountain rescue teams, as well as the Abergavenny-based Longtown team, went to the woman’s aid at lunchtime on Tuesday.
She was treated on the scene by team medics and paramedics before team members carried her down, on a stretcher, to the Pont ar Day car park and a waiting ambulance.
Temperatures in the area had reached 25 degrees celsius at lunchtime on Tuesday.
A Brecon Mountain Rescue Team spokesman said: "She was stretcher carried down to Pont ar Daf car park to a much appreciated, air conditioned ambulance.
"It was a very hot but beautiful day to be on the hill. We hope the lady makes a speedy recovery from her injury."
National Trust rangers also uses their vehicles to take supplies and medics to the woman.
