The winners of the Builth Wells Christmas Tree Festival have been revealed.

The festival was held in St. Mary's Church in Builth from December 18 to 29.

There were 29 trees in the Festival, all from different local organisations, groups and charities.

Each of the three winning groups received a photograph, a framed certificate and an engraved medal, enamelled with a Christmas tree motif.

The winners were chosen by public vote from the visitors to the Festival.

First place went to 'Woolly Wednesdays', a group of local ladies who meet on Wednesday evenings and knitted over 90 hats which they then formed on a structure, into the shape of a tree. The hats are all now being generously donated to the homeless.
