A yellow weather warning for rain is in place across the Swansea Valley and parts of southern Bannau Brycheiniog today (Thursday), with the alert running until 4pm.
The warning, issued by the Met Office, covers areas including Ystradgynlais and Pontardawe, as well as a southern patch of the national park. A stretch of the A470 between Merthyr and Brecon is within the warning area, with Storey Arms sitting on its edge.
A Met Office spokesperson said: “Frequent heavy showers are likely to continue through Thursday morning and early afternoon, before gradually easing mid-to-late afternoon.”
The forecast warns that flooding of homes and businesses is possible, while spray and surface water could make journey times longer. There is also a chance of some disruption to power supplies and other services.
