LAST Saturday’s Hay-on-Wye 5k fun run was a little different to the usual as runners were invited to wear fancy dress and/or red noses to raise money for Comic Relief.
The run, which starts on the railway path below the road bridge at 9am every Saturday, was the 54th held in the town.
About 30 people turned up to take part with many of them dressed up in fancy dress costumes.
Altogether more than 150 people have taken part in the runs over the past year.
Saturday’s run raised just over £100.
Alan Nicholls, one of the organisers, said he was delighted with the turnout and the spirit in which the runners took part. He said: “We had about 30 runners – several in fancy dress. We raised just over £100. As it was a fun run we don’t worry about times.”
Details of the runs and how to take part can be found on the Hay Hotfooters Facebook page. Results are on the club website.
