RHAYADER Motor Club’s long-awaited Big Weekender takes place at Cwmythig Hill this weekend.
The return of their massively popular Youth Hare ‘n Hounds kicks off the event on Saturday, April 27 with classes for riders of all ability.
The action starts at 1pm with the Novice race, with classes for Fun Bike 50, 50cc, 65cc, 85cc, Fun Bikes & Trials Bikes.
This will be a short 30 minute race with an easy grass field lap set up.
Race Two will see the more experienced 50cc/65cc riders tackle a more difficult/longer route over a duration of one hour 15 minutes.
The final race of the day will see 85cc small-wheel, 85cc big-wheel, 125cc/150cc heads out for a 1 hour minute 15 minute race on an extended lap.
There are medals to all finishers and awards for the top three riders in all classes, these will be presented after the last race in the marquee.
Entries are available on the day too.
On Sunday it will be the adults chance to race, this being the King of the Hill Hare ‘n Hounds.
This will be a 2½ race starting at 11am.
There are classes for all abilities – Championship, Expert, Clubman, Under 19’s, Over 40’s, Over 50’s, Ladies, Sportsman A (regular Sportsman riders) & Sportsman B (newcomers to the sport).
There are no sidecars at the event.
Again entries are available on the day.
Awards for top three will be presented after the race in the marquee.
There is entertainment on the Saturday evening in the marquee, plus a hog roast, licensed bar, rodeo bull & children’s bouncy castle with many competitions and spectators expected to camp over the weekend at Cwmythig.
