Builth Wells remain joint top of the Worcester Cricket League Division 6 (South) with Ledbury CC and Stone CC following a 6 wicket win at Barnards Green 3rds.
Builth captain Dylan McPhee put the home side in to bat and it looked a good decision as they skittled Barnards Green out for just 42. Nathan Howell (3-7), Sujeewa Senarathne (3-8), Ben Cripps (2-9) and McPhee (1-16) were the wicket takers.
In reply, Neil Harris made 18 for The Bulls but they also lost Senarathne (0), Nathan Howell (2) and Aled Powell (4) to Zac Wells (4-30) before Tim Richards (10 not out) and McPhee (6 not out) saw them home inside eleven overs.
Builth can expect a stiffer challenge this weekend when they welcome former Marches League rivals, Garnons to Garth Road.
Builth 2nds maintained the feel-good factor surrounding the club and are also top of Division 9 (Herefordshire North) after beating Kington 2nds by 4 wickets.
Kington were restricted to 167 for 9 from their 40 overs with disciplined eight-over spells from Eurig Towns (2-26) and Mike Williams (0-17) setting the tone. Sathish Kumar Rathinaswamy (40) top-scored for Kington but was one of five wickets for Michael Griffiths (5-45).
Paul Rowe (43), Ian Rowe (47) and an in-form Owen Evans (35) were the main contributors as Builth reached their total with three overs in hand to make it three wins in a row.
There were wins for Hay on Wye and Presteigne in Division 8 (South) with Hay thrashing Dales by 10 wickets.
The Leominster side were bowled out for just 50 with Gabriel Moore (4-26) and Mark Burgess (2-14) doing the early damage before Tom Davies (4-5), in just ten balls, dismantled the tail. Hay reached the total in 12 overs without losing a wicket with John Barry (25 not out) and Matthew Foulkes (8 not out) the only batsmen needed while 18 extras also contributed to their success.
Hay are top of the early Division 8 (South) table while Presteigne are third after easing to an 8 wicket success against Colwall 3rds who were all out for 124.
For Presteigne, Will Bartholomew (3-17), David Austin (3-29) and Ed Rees (2-21) impressed with the ball. Presteigne then needed just 14 overs to secure the win with an opening partnership between Rees (53) and Austin (55 not out) leading the way.
