THE South Powys badminton tournament took place at Brecon Leisure Centre on Thursday December 3.

Teams from Crickhowell, Brecon, Llandrindod, Builth, John Beddoes and Gwernyfed High Schools had previously qualified from the Shire competitions.

32 boys and 32 girls took part and the standard of badminton was excellent.

The results were Year 7 and 8 boys - winners Crickhowell; Yr 7 and 8 girls - winners Brecon; Yr 9 and 10 boys winners - Crickhowell; Yr 9 and 10 girls winners - Llandrindod. These teams all now qualify the South Wales Championship held at Sports Wales National Centre, Cardiff in February.
