BRECON FC kept the Watson Financial Mid Wales League (South) flag flying in the Emrys Morgan Cup with a 6-0 win at Newtown Wanderers.
The South Powys side eased into the last sixteen of this prestigious competition and now face another away tie at Llanrhaeadr Reserves or Forden United who meet this week-end.
Playing on Newtown’s state of the art 3G pitch, Kyle O’Shea handed Brecon an interval lead before the floodgates opened in the second half. Topscorer, O’Shea grabbed a second while Marc Davies, man of the match, Louis Pritchard, Gareth Baker and an own goal completed the tally.
Llandrindod Wells Reserves are the only other remaining side from the Mid Wales League (South) in the Emrys Morgan Cup and the Spa men host Lampeter Town in The New Year.
