Brecon Corries had to settle for a point in a 2-2 draw at home against 10-man Caldicot Town in the Ardal League South East.

With Caldicot third in the table it promised to be a stern test for The Chisels who went ahead thanks to a cracking early strike from Jay Ryan Hughes.

Caldicot had their captain, Matthew James sent off after 20 minutes when he brought down Craig Evans just outside the box when he was last man.

Despite being a man down, Caldicot equalised early in the second half through Ben Burns but Corries regained their lead on 73 minutes when Craig Evans beat the offside trap and lifted the ball over the advancing keeper. It got a bit frantic from them and the visitors levelled four minutes from time with a scrambled effort from Cole Greenhaf.

Corries manager, Damien Daniels admitted he would have settled for a point before the game but felt his side perhaps lacked a little quality on the day although in fairness, they were without Paul Keddle, Joel Evans, Jack Biggs and Luke Roughley.
