BRECON Corries’ first home game of the Highadmit Projects South Wales Alliance premier division season was played in front of a crowd swollen by more than 100 visitors from the Groundhop UK football fans movement.

Corries won the match at Rich Field on Sunday against Pontlottyn by two goals to nil, with the goals coming from Jack Bain and Craig Jones.

The match was one of 11 fixtures that made up the Welsh Groundhop weekend. The visiting supporters from all over Britain, as well as some from overseas, went to matches at a selection of grounds in the South Wales Alliance during a busy bank holiday weekend.

On the Sunday evening, Brecon Corries were the hosts, putting on a barbecue for both home fans and their Groundhop UK visitors. They also assembled items of club memorabilia, such as old photos and shirts, for the Groundhop UK visitors to buy as mementoes of their visit.
