ARDAL LEAGUE NORTH EAST
Builth Wells caused one of the shocks of the season with a stunning 2-1 home victory over Ardal North East League champions Llanuwchllyn to ensure their survival in Tier Three. The North Wales side arrived at The Lant Field with just one league defeat all season but were handed an early shock as 17-year-old Seth Bridgeman struck twice for The Bulls in the first seven minutes. Bridgeman got his first following good work from Harry Edwards and then headed a second from Jamie Evans’ cross. Builth were well worth that interval lead but had to withstand a lot of pressure in the second half. But they did so with central defenders Ryan Powell and Lee James outstanding, as they have been all season. In fact, Builth were tremendous from one to eleven, playing for one another and for their manager Jason Samuel, who has had to endure a difficult campaign.
Meilir Williams, the league’s top scorer, pulled a goal back for Llanuwchllyn on 76 minutes with a top-class finish, but Builth saw it out to make it ten points from the last twelve and complete their own version of the great escape.
Builth are now level on points with local rivals Llandrindod Wells, who were beaten 3-0 at Cefn Albion and know the importance of Jack Evans’s late winner against Rhos Aelwyd the previous week. Again without key players, Llandrindod battled well but were two down at half-time on Saturday to goals from Alex Williams and Thomas Broadhurst before Nathan Williams completed Albion’s win in the second half.
Knighton Town made a timely return to winning ways in their chase for runners-up spot and did it in style with a 6-1 victory at Rhos Aelwyd, who had Dyfan Thomas sent off after 20 minutes. Knighton cashed in with Callum Stead completing a hat-trick, returning Taylor Wozencraft scoring twice, and Luke Boundford netting from the penalty spot before Osian Phillips grabbed a late consolation for Rhos.
Prior to Saturday, Knighton had won just one of their last seven and had dropped further points in midweek, only managing a 2-2 draw at lowly Kerry, whose Luke Mumford opened the scoring with a free-kick. Goals either side of half-time from Adam Farmer and Callum Stead put Knighton ahead, but Barry Bellis grabbed a second with ten minutes remaining to earn Kerry a point.
Llanrhaeadr did Knighton a huge favour with a 3-1 win at Bow Street. David France and Billy Clarke put Michael Barton’s side two up and Josh Bowen sealed victory after Josh Taylor had pulled one back for the Ceredigion side.
Dolgellau were the day’s biggest winners with Osian Morris and Gerwyn Williams each scoring twice in an 8-1 romp over Llangollen Town to keep alive their faint hopes of a top-two finish.
Kerry look as if their two-year stint in Tier Three is over and will be relegated to the MMP Central Wales League (North) following a 3-1 defeat at Corwen where a late brace from Jamie Rainbird won it for the hosts.
The first goal from Corwen’s Lewis Wills did not arrive until the 77th minute and that was immediately cancelled out by Luke Mumford.
ARDAL LEAGUE SOUTH EAST
Joel Evans bagged a hat-trick as Brecon Corries made it three wins in a row in the Ardal League South East with a 4-1 win against Canton at the Hub Scaffolding Rich Field.

WATSON FINANCIAL MID WALES LEAGUE (SOUTH)
Hay St Marys are the 2025-26 Watson Financial Mid Wales League (South) champions. The Saints secured the title in front of their own supporters with a 5-0 success over Llanidloes Town Reserves last Tuesday night. With news filtering through that rivals Rhayader Town Development had only managed a draw at Llandrindod Wells Reserves in the night’s earlier kick-off, Hay knew a win would ensure them a first title since 2017. They were frustrated during a goalless first half, but once captain Darren Horrigan broke the deadlock on the hour, there was no looking back. Dave Thomas added a second two minutes later and Ricky Lynes, the league’s top goalscorer, whose goals have been paramount to Hay’s success, rounded it off with a 17-minute hat-trick.
Hay received the League Trophy and the players their individual medals prior to Friday night’s game at Llandrindod Wells Reserves from the league’s long-time sponsor Roger Watson. Scott Warren’s side then went on to end their championship-winning season with a 6-2 victory over the Spa side. Ricky Lynes, who had received the league top goalscorer award, again led the way with his fifth league hat-trick of the term in the first half. Lynes took his tally to 33 and also provided assists for Charlie Ward and Taylor Maddy. Ryan Sims netted twice for Llandrindod, who did stick to their task after the break, conceding just one more when Ward bagged his second of the night.
Rhayader had seen their faint title hopes ended following that 1-1 draw at Llandrindod Wells Reserves earlier in the week, where Cian Price’s second-half opener had been cancelled out by Llandrindod’s Richie Powell. Rhayader are now two points behind second-placed Talgarth Town, knowing a win from their remaining two games would give them runners-up spot, although with a better goal difference, two points will suffice.
Brecon FC look set to finish fourth and will be disappointed at not being closer to Hay. The Stags recorded a 3-1 win at Llanidloes Town Reserves on Saturday, where Obo Edwards was their hero with a second-half hat-trick. Brecon moved central defender Edwards up front for the second half and the switch paid dividends, with their captain completing his treble before Rhys Williams gained a consolation for The Daffs.
Brecon had won 4-2 at Builth Wells Reserves in midweek to end The Bulls’ seven-match unbeaten run. In-form striker Blake Evans had twice put Builth ahead in the first half, with Matty Roderick and Owain Powell-Jones hitting back with headed goals for Brecon. Top scorer Powell-Jones gave Brecon the lead in the second half from Roderick’s through ball before Billy Shepherd rounded off a well-worked move, tucking away an Aaron Mills cross to seal the win.
Builth picked up a point in a 2-2 draw at Penybont United at the weekend, where George Lloyd and Kai Bridgeman gave them a two-goal lead. Top scorer Connor Walby reduced the deficit for Penybont before half-time and Alfie Stonefield salvaged a point with a late penalty.
MMP CENTRAL WALES LEAGUES
Rhayader Town have ended their season in the MMP Central Wales League (South) in third spot after signing off with a comfortable 5-0 home success over Bont. The Red Kites knew they had to win by three goals to pip Penrhyncoch Reserves for that third place and they did so, scoring four in the second half on Saturday.
Danny Hall put Rhayader ahead on the half hour and they ran away with it after the break, with Hall bagging his second and Rhys Thomas also scoring twice before Cian Price completed the nap hand.
Sixth last season and third this time, Rhayader hope further improvement next season can see them challenge for the title and promotion to Tier Three where they want to be.
Caersws Development ended on a high with a 4-1 win over Tregaron in what was coach Carl Lewis’s last game in charge. There were two goals each for top scorer Jared Marks and 16-year-old Joe Christofides to give The Bluebirds a first win since November after Paul James had put Tregaron ahead. Elsewhere, Kasper Napierala completed a hat-trick in Kerry Reserves’ 5-1 success over Llanilar.
Carno are closing in on the MMP Central Wales (North) League title after two victories over the Bank Holiday weekend. The Greens won 2-0 at Forden United on Friday night with a goal in each half from Llewelyn Jerman and Oli Lewis and on Monday Carno eased to a 5-1 win at Tywyn Bryncrug. Jerman netted twice with Harry Vince-Holt, Sam Williams and Tyler McCarthy also on target.
There is a chance that two sides could be promoted from this division and Llansantffraid Village could also go up if they win their last league game at Barmouth after pulling off an impressive 3-0 victory at Four Crosses with goals from Delcio Jamie Neto (2) and Huzaif Abubakari.
Waterloo Rovers also kept their hopes of a runners-up spot alive with two wins, starting on Friday night when Max McLaughlin scored twice as they triumphed 3-2 at near neighbours Welshpool Town. Rovers then came from behind to defeat Dolgellau Reserves 2-1 with Tom Ellis netting both goals.
Barmouth are on a good run and notched two wins, with teenage star Dewey Wright scoring in a 2-1 success over Llanfyllin Town and a 3-1 verdict at Abermule. Bishops Castle are also ending strongly and eased to a 4-0 victory over Dolgellau Reserves with Thomas Edwards netting twice.
