Brecon Corries strengthened their grip on a top-six place in the Ardal League South East with a comfortable 4-1 win over Canton at the Rich Field.
The home side made the breakthrough after 14 minutes when a long ball into the area was helped on by Joel Evans and Luke Roughley was on hand to finish from close range.
Corries doubled their advantage almost immediately after the restart. Jamie Williams saw an effort saved, but Joel Evans reacted quickest to tuck away the rebound.
Canton responded in the 18th minute when Lyes Mihoubi met Tyrell Webbe’s cross from the left and finished past Steve Price to halve the deficit.
The visitors’ task became significantly harder on 50 minutes when Webbe was sent off for a challenge on Devon Davies.
Brecon Corries took full control from there and restored their two-goal cushion in the 61st minute, Joel Evans heading in his second of the game from a Roughley free-kick on the right.
Evans then completed his hat-trick, converting Corey Evans’ cross from the left to seal victory and move onto 12 league goals for the season.
The result extends Corries’ strong recent form, with five wins from their last six league matches.
