Newtown lifted the Central Wales Cup for the first time in 17 years with a well-deserved 3-0 victory over arch rivals Caersws.

The Robins got the all-important first goal after just four minutes when Caersws failed to properly clear a cross from the lively Tomas Jones, and Aidan McCann struck.
The final at Rhayader Town’s Weirglodd was not a great spectacle, and there were few further chances in the first half. Newtown increased their lead six minutes into the second period when Devon Torry cut in from the left to fire past Max Williams.
There was no way back for Caersws, who will be disappointed with their performance, and substitute Iwan Roberts netted a third for Newtown in stoppage time when his shot slipped past Williams, who should have done better.
Newtown’s JoJo Harries was sent off late on after a bad challenge from Caersws’ Thomas Edwards sparked a 20-man brawl.
Robins' skipper Kieran Mills-Evans received the trophy from Central Wales FA councillor Kevin Moon to commence the celebrations amongst those who had travelled from Latham Park.
