HAY St Marys hold a comfortable mid table position in the Spar Mid Wales League first division after a 4-0 home win against Machynlleth.

Hay were dominant throughout but it looked as if it was going to be one of those days as they did everything except score in a goalless first half. It took just three minutes into the second half for The Saints to unlock the visitors’ defence with the outstanding Rob Sneddon crossing for Brendan Hackett to find the net.

Steve Morgan headed a second from a Tom James cross and Ryan Losito then netted his first goal for the club. Hackett completed the win with a 25 yard strike after Machynlleth had failed to clear Kyle Harding’s cross.

Knighton Town made it back to back wins with a 3-2 home verdict over Tywyn bryncrug. Mark Jones, Sam Williams and Adam Farmer shared the goals for the Radnor Robins who spurned countless other chances.

Radnor Valley were beaten 3-0 at second placed Berriew where goals from Richard Davies, Jamie Dockerty and Karl Seliaerts took the home side to within four points of Rhayader at the top of the table.
