Three of the Evans brothers - Dale, Joel and Craig - were on target as Brecon Corries beat Tredegar Town 4-1 in the Ardal League South East on Tuesday night.

Three goals in the last 10 minutes won it for Damien Daniels’ side following a goalless first half at the Hub Scaffolding Rich Field. Joel Evans broke the deadlock on 65 minutes in what was his first start of the term but Ian Pettit put Tredegar back on terms. Substitute, Jamie Williams regained Corries’ lead and Dale Evans netted with his customary free-kick before Craig Evans also got in on the act.

Llandrindod Wells backed up their victory over Lex X1 with a 2-1 home win over Llanfair United in the Ardal League North East.

The Spa side began brightly and their Brecon connection combined for the first goal with former Corries midfielder, Nyle Slade, firing home from outside the box after being picked out by Jack Evans. The in-form Liam Hall, who was a constant threat, added the second with a lovely chip over the keeper after latching on to long ball from the impressive Gavin Rowlands. Tomos Jones pulled one back for Llanfair early in the second half following a well-worked move and they posed questions after that but a well-organised Llandrindod back four were equal to them.

Knighton Town proved too strong for a spirited Builth Wells with goals from Kieran Dovey, Sam Hoyle and Luke Boundford securing a 3-1 victory on The Lant Field.

Dovey, who is a quality signing, fired Knighton ahead with a superb 20-yard strike before setting up Hoyle who slotted a second. Builth made a number of substitutions at half-time and this led to their best spell of the night culminating in Ollie Woods reducing the deficit from the penalty spot when Ryan Powell was brought down. A penalty at the other end sealed it for Knighton although the outstanding Lee James looked to be rather harshly adjudged to have brought down Boundford, who obliged from the spot.

A young Radnor Valley went down to a narrow 1-0 defeat at a more experienced Kerry with Neil Mitchell’s headed goal from Fin Bellamore’s cross midway through the second half settling matters after Radnor’s Jack Clarke had seen a first half penalty saved by 16-year-old Riley Bellamore, who was making his debut.

Llanrhaeadr were celebrating their first points with David France, Billy Clarke and Will Howard on target in a 3-1 win at Lex X1 who had led at half-time through Seb Kidd.

Llanuwchllyn beat Bow Street 3-1 in the big game of the night with goals from Meilir Williams, Gwydion Ifan and Will Owen after Taylor Watts had given Bow Street the lead. Both sides ended with nine men with Llanuwchllyn’s Kyle Jones and Owen sent off along with Street’s Garmon Nutting and Nathan Pemberthy.

First half goals from Torne Samuels (pen) and Callum Mannion earned Cefn Albion a 2-0 win at Llangollen Town while Aled Parry (2) and Scott Reeves helped Rhos Aelwyd to a 3-1 success at previously unbeaten Penycae.

Rhayader Town made the perfect start to their MMP Central Wales League (South) campaign with a 4-0 home victory over local rivals, Llanidloes Town.

Two goals from Cameron Mills towards the end of the first half sent The Red Kites on their way. Mills volleyed Rhayader ahead from a Rhys Thomas corner and then headed home from another Thomas delivery. Ollie Leadbetter virtually put the game to bed with a third early in the second half with Thomas again providing the cross before Jacob Jones rifled in a fourth from a Sam Rees through ball.
