Radnor Valley progressed in the FAW Welsh Cup following a 3-2 win at Seven Sisters Onllwyn from the Ardal League South West.

The Goats have saved their best form for the cups this time and again came up with the goods on Friday night, with goals from Jack Gittoes, Lewis Morris and Matt Croose putting them in the hat for the second-round draw and a chance of a tie against a Cymru Premier team.

Jack Gittoes gave Radnor an early lead from the penalty spot following a rather harsh handball, but the home side equalised with a penalty of their own from Shay Isaacs when Lewis Morris brought down an attacker.

Morris, however, atoned by putting Radnor ahead for a second time, with Matt Croose setting him up after the goalkeeper had fumbled a corner.

Seven Sisters were reduced to ten men with Tito Anderson picking up his second yellow card for a second bad challenge on Ieuan Price, who was Radnor’s man of the match in midfield. The Goats then grabbed a crucial third on the stroke of half-time, with Croose on target after Gittoes and Jack Clarke had combined.

Jacob Sadler pulled one back for Seven Sisters on 74 minutes and they pressed for an equaliser, but Radnor stood firm to pocket the £500 prize money on offer.

The only downside for Radnor was a yellow card for Jack Gittoes, which is his second in this season’s competition and will rule him out of the next round.
