RHAYADER Town Reserves extended their lead at the top of the Watson Financial Mid Wales League (South) despite being held to a 1-1 draw by Presteigne Reserves last Friday night.
John Foster headed Town in front from a corner but Presteigne turned in possibly their best performance of the term with Duanne Anning levelling from Josh Carni’s cross.
St Harmon and Llandrindod Wells Reserves also drew 1-1 in a game that was nip and tuck all the way. Josh Rees gave the Swifts an interval lead but Jason Coles hit back for Llandrindod in the second half.
It was 1-1 too at Hay St Marys Reserves last Friday night when local rivals, Talgarth Town were the visitors. Talgarth were a goal up at the break but substitute, Nathan Heighway hit back for The saints whose Kyle Harding had a late effort ruled out for off-side.
Llanidloes Town Reserves were the week-ends only winners with two goals from Will Denham earning a 2-1 success over bottom side, Builth Wells Reserves.
