TALGARTH Town and Brecon Northcote are both through to the second round of the Pip Samuel (Electrical) Mid-Wales (South) league Cup after wins at the weekend.
Mid-Wales (South) League leaders Talgarth edged out Penybont with a narrow 2-1 home win. Goals from Ben Sharman and Kyle O’Shea saw Talgarth two up before George McCarthey-Allen reduced the deficit.
Northcote kept their nerve to win 5-3 in a penalty shoot out against Builth Wells Reserves after the sides were still goalless at the end of extra-time. Corey Evans, Nick Younger, Joel Evans, Morgan lake and Ben Bateson were all successful from the spot to see Northcote through.
Elsewhere, Llanidloes Town Reserves swept through with a 5-0 win against Knighton Town Reserves. Former player-manager, Adrian Foulkes led the way with a brace with Conrad Galloway, Will Denham and Lee Vaughan also on target.
