THE Mid Wales football season kicks off this season and I'm sure we all feel the same - about bloody time.

It feels like an age since the World Cup in Brazil provided us with a month's restbite, but finally, this weekend, sanity returns with the kick-off of the Huws Gray Alliance, the Spar Mid Wales League, Mid Wales League South and the South Wales FA Senior League Division 1.

Rhayader Town have been joined by Radnorshire rivals Llandrindod Wells in the second tier of Welsh football, after the Spamen claimed a thrilling Spar 1 triumph in 2013/14

Rhosgoch are flying solo in Spar Division 1, while Brecon Corries are have been reinstated into Division 1 of the South Wales Senior League after being officially relegated last season.

There are seven Brecon and Radnor teams in the 13 team Spar Division 2, while Rhayader Reserves are aiming to make it four titles in five years in the Mid Wales League South.
