Red Kites flying low at the bottom

RHAYADER Town remain one from bottom in the Huws Gray Alliance following a narrow 3-2 home defeat at the hands of Denbigh Town.

It was however a much improved performance from The Red Kites who found themselves trailing when Ant Dunleavey fired Denbigh ahead after just six minutes.

The visitors might have added a couple more but did score a second on the half hour with Carl Lamb heading in from a corner.

Sean Powell pulled one back for Rhayader before half-time and it was their turn to create chances after the break. Lamb netted his second of the game on 82 minutes but new signing, Paul Bishop immediately reduced the deficit for Rhayader who could not quite conjure up an equaliser.
