Brecon RFC was the proud host of a special rugby celebration on Saturday, May 17, as the club welcomed teams from across South and Mid Wales for the Over-40s Renaissance Cup touch tournament.

The event at Parc de Pugh brought together veteran players from both near and far - including the Brecon Baa-Baas - and spectators were treated to a very high standard of touch rugby.

Off the pitch, the day also served a greater purpose, raising funds for Myeloma UK - a charity close to the hearts of many of those taking part. A raffle, BBQ, and rugby ticket auction helped raise around £2,000 for the cause.

Organisers extended their thanks to all referees, players, helpers, and those who contributed to the day’s success. Appreciation also went to everyone who donated prizes to the charity draw.

As the day wound down, celebrations continued with live music from local performer and Brecon youth player Owain Evans-Taylor, who entertained players and supporters alike.

The Brecon veterans side is always keen to welcome new players. So if you're over 40 and up for a bit of fun and fitness, they’d love to hear from you.
