Brecon’s Rob Davies has been selected in the 15-strong British team for the ITTF World Para Elite tournament in Spokane, Washington, from August 9-13.
The 40-year-old former Paralympic champion will compete in the men’s class 1 category. Davies won gold at Rio 2016 and took silver at Paris 2024, where he was beaten in the final by Cuba’s Yunier Fernandez.
Earlier this year, Davies claimed bronze at the inaugural World Para Elite event in Lasko, Slovenia, following a silver medal at the Para Challenger tournament also held in Slovenia.
He will be joined in the squad by fellow Paralympic medallists Will Bayley, Bly Twomey, Fliss Pickard, Paul Karabardak, and Billy Shilton, alongside national champions Megan Shackleton and Joshua Stacey.
