Dyfed-Powys police have confirmed that a man has died in hospital after being airlifted from Brecon bypass on Wednesday, 27 March.

Police received a call at around 2.50pm concerning the welfare of an individual near to Brecon canal.

A man was later airlifted to hospital from the A40 Brecon Bypass.

The man sadly passed away later in hospital.

In a statement released today, a spokesperson for Dyfed-Powys police said: “Dyfed-Powys police received a call for a concern for the welfare of an individual near to Brecon canal at about 2.50pm on March 27th.

“A man was air-lifted to hospital via air ambulance. He sadly passed away in hospital. Next of kin has been advised and HM Coroner has been informed.

“The A40 Brecon bypass was closed while emergency services dealt with the incident and officers conducted initial enquiries.

“The road reopened at about 5.30pm. Thank you to all motorists who were affected by the road closure for their patience.”
