A 76-year-old motorcyclist has died following a collision involving a motorcycle and a van near Knighton.

Dyfed-Powys Police said the two-vehicle crash happened on the A488 at Monaughty at about midday on Wednesday, August 12.

The collision involved a black Harley Davidson motorcycle and a white Ford Transit.

The 76-year-old male rider died at the scene. His next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.

Police said there were no other injuries.

The A488 was closed while officers carried out their investigation and reopened at about 00:30 this morning (Thursday).

Dyfed-Powys Police is appealing for witnesses who were travelling along the A488 between Dolau and Monaughty at the time of the collision.

Investigating officers are particularly keen to speak to motorists who were in the area and may have dashcam footage of the incident or the vehicles involved.
