A driver and a dog on the backseat of an Audi A5 sadly died this weekend following a single vehicle collision on the A470 between Llyswen and Llanstephan.

On Saturday, 3 October, at approximately 7.30pm Dyfed-Powys Police received a report of a single vehicle collision involving an Audi A5 that was on fire and a parked Peugeot 2008, that also caught fire.

The Peugeot was unoccupied.

The road was closed for collision investigation to take place and reopened at around 5pm on Sunday, October 4.

Dyfed-Powys Police released a statement today. A spokesperson for the Police said: “Dyfed-Powys Police is appealing for witnesses to, or anyone with information about, a fatal collision on the A470 between Llyswen and Llanstephan, Powys on Saturday, October 03 at approximately 7:30pm.

“Police received a report of a single vehicle collision involving an Audi A5 that was on fire and a parked Peugeot 2008, that also caught fire.

“Sadly, the driver of the Audi A5 was pronounced deceased at the scene, along with a dog present in the backseat. Their next of kin have been informed.

“The Peugeot was unoccupied.

“Anyone with information or dashcam footage that could help officers with their investigation is asked to report it to Dyfed-Powys Police”
