BBC presenter Alan Carr has brought Interior Design Masters 2026 to the town of Hay-on-Wye, giving Wye Fret a makeover.

Wye Fret, on 6 Castle Street, appeared on the BBC show on Tuesday 26th May.

Taking to Facebook, the team from Wye Fret said: “We’ve kept this a secret for so long but we are super excited to announce that Wye Fret will be featured on Interior Design Masters 2026.

“The amazing Alan Carr and his team of extremely talented designers came and gave us the makeover we could only dream of.”

Designers Emmely & Duran helped redesign the shop.

“Very rarely I am ever lost for words, but I genuinely can’t thank these two incredibly talented girls enough for puring their heart and souls into creating my dream guitar shop,” said Chris at Wye Fret. “They did everything I asked for and more.”

Chris Williams became the UK's youngest guitar shop owner when he opened Wye Fret in Hay-on-Wye in 2021.

At the beginning of the show, Alan Carr took part in a skit at Gay-on-Wye bookshop.
