A garden centre near Brecon has been crowned the best in the UK after a standout night at a national awards ceremony.

The Old Railway Line Garden Centre, based in Three Cocks between Brecon and Hay-on-Wye, was named Best Garden Centre in the UK at the Garden Centre Association’s (GCA) annual awards.

The winners were announced at the GCA’s Annual Conference at the Carden Park Hotel in Cheshire, held as part of the association’s 60th anniversary celebrations.

As well as taking the top national title, the Old Railway Line Garden Centre also picked up awards for Best Farm Shop and Best Garden Products Retailer, and once again achieved Centre of Excellence status - placing it firmly among the Top 10 Garden Centres in the UK.

Each of them has been recognised for their outstanding dedication to delivering excellence, and they are truly deserving of these fantastic awards.”

The Garden Centre Association represents more than 200 garden centres across the UK. Awards are decided following a year-long programme of unannounced inspections, assessing everything from customer service and retail standards to product range and the overall visitor experience.
