Business owners in Brecon are being encouraged to attend a public information event next month to find out how they could benefit from a new grant scheme aimed at brightening the town centre.
Brecon Town Council is hosting the session on Thursday, December 4, at 5:30pm in The Guildhall, where details of the “Brecon Shop Front Scheme “will be set out for local traders and commercial property owners.
The scheme will offer grants covering up to 70 per cent of the cost of external improvements to shop or commercial frontages. Eligible work includes repairing, painting or replacing windows and doors, upgrading signage and awnings, and improvements to the building’s full front elevation, including upper floors.
Structural, roofing and internal works are excluded.
All funded work must be completed by December 31, 2026.
The event will give businesses the chance to ask questions, understand the application process, and register an expression of interest.
