Brecon Hockey Club has celebrated its 40th anniversary, with more than 60 past and present members coming together to mark the occasion.

The evening provided an opportunity for members to catch up and share memories from the club’s 40-year history.

Stories were told of how the club began, with a group of friends getting together to play friendly matches on Sundays before eventually entering a league.

Members also looked back at the development of the club’s junior section and how it has grown into the organisation it is today.

Brecon Hockey Club now has junior teams competing from under-8s level, while its Ladies Senior team currently plays in South Wales Division One.

The club thanked Kelly’s at Cradoc for hosting the anniversary celebration.

New members are welcome to join the club, with players of all ages invited to get involved.

Training takes place at Christ College on Wednesday evenings, starting in mid-September. Juniors train from 6pm, with seniors from 7:30pm.
