Brecon Mountain Rescue Team is inviting the public to go behind the scenes at its new base this summer as it hosts a special open day for the community.

The team, which responds 24 hours a day, seven days a week to incidents across the area, will open the doors of its new headquarters on Saturday, July 4.

The event will run from 11am to 3pm at Unit 29, Ffrwdgrech Industrial Estate, Brecon, and is free to attend.

Visitors will be able to tour the new base with team members, get up close to rescue vehicles, and see demonstrations of specialist equipment used in mountain and wilderness rescues.

There will also be footage of the team in action, along with the chance to meet volunteers, browse team merchandise and enjoy light refreshments.
