Brecon Mountain Rescue Team will be sharing the story of their service, from its inception to the work they carry out today, in a special presentation at the Llanwrtyd & District Heritage and Arts Centre.
The event, which takes place on Wednesday, January 28 at 7pm, offers a unique insight into the vital role played by volunteer rescue teams. Organisers say it is not to be missed for anyone who relies on or is interested in the work of these dedicated volunteers.
Entry for this event is £3.
Brecon Mountain Rescue Team is a 100 per cent volunteer-led emergency service, providing specialist search, rescue, and medical assistance across Bannau Brycheiniog National Park and Mid Wales. The team is on call 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, responding to emergencies including mountain and water rescues and searches for missing or vulnerable people in remote locations. Covering over 700 square miles, they work closely with police, fire, and ambulance services. The service is entirely funded by public donations, with annual running costs of around £65,000 met solely through the generosity of supporters.
