The Works has confirmed its Brecon branch in Bethel Square is set to close this summer.

In a statement, the store cited difficulties reaching an agreement with the landlord as the reason.

A spokesperson for The Works told the B&R: “We can confirm that we will be closing our store in Brecon this summer. This has been a great location for The Works but sadly we have been unable to agree suitable terms with the landlord that would enable us to stay. We apologise for any inconvenience caused and would like to thank customers for shopping with us over the years."

The store is known for its mix of books, stationery, arts and crafts supplies, and toys.
