This small table was handmade to commemorate the end of the Second World War in 1945.

It has been in the care of Ashburnham House (Shaw Health Care Ltd) since 2010.

The table was handmade by a Master Carpenter from North Powys.

He unfortunately became unwell in around 1984 and was cared for in the Mid Wales Hospital on an Elderly Care Ward.

Whilst he was there his family brought the table to the ward as a reminder of his former skills and to allow him to recall and reminisce about these times.

When he passed away the table was donated to the ward by his family.

When the Mid Wales Hospital closed and all in-patient services moved to Bronllys Hospital, the table was relocated again in 1999.

The table found itself on the move again in 2010 when Ashburnham House was opened and several service users moved in from Bronllys.

It has remained in the Ashburnham since then and was loaned out for the local commemoration of the 80th Victory in Europe day.
