Crickhowell High School has posted a strong set of results for its post-16 learners, crediting their resilience and the “unwavering support” of the school community.

The school said this year’s results showed its commitment to ensuring that every learner achieves their full potential.

More than 80 per cent of learners achieved A-C grades, with around 30 per cent achieving two or more A*/A grades when they opened their envelopes this morning.

A high number of pupils also gained A*/A grades across the board.

Those who have been working towards Level 3 qualifications are also celebrating, with 94.2 per cent of all learners achieving the Level 3 threshold.

Headteacher Marc Yeoman said the results were an accomplishment that reflected the exceptional dedication shown by many students throughout their studies.

"These results are a tremendous achievement and reflect the dedication of our students, the expertise and commitment of our staff, and the support provided by families throughout their educational journey,” he said.

“We are incredibly proud of what our students have accomplished. As a school, we remain committed to ensuring that every learner is known, valued and supported to achieve their very best. It is particularly pleasing to see so many students successfully progressing to their first-choice destinations and a significant number achieving exceptional academic outcomes.

“We congratulate all of our students on their achievements and wish them every success as they take their next steps into higher education, training and employment."
