At Christ College Brecon, the Upper Sixth cohort of 2026 is once again celebrating a highly impressive set of A Level and BTEC examination results, with pupils returning to school to collect their results and celebrate plenty of good news with their friends, teachers and staff.
Christ College were delighted with 47% of grades at A*-A with nearly one in five grades awarded an A*. There was notable success for local pupils Pallav (Brecon), Laragh (Crickhowell), Osian (Scethrog), and Freddie (Abergavenny) who all secured a clean sweep of A* grades and took up impressive places at highly competitive universities across the UK.

The school boasts a 98% overall pass rate.
As well as its rich curriculum in sport, creative arts, and outdoor education, Christ College pupils excelled across a range of curriculum areas. Standout results in a range of subjects included:
- Further Maths (100% A* - A)
- Maths (80% A* - A)
- Art (100% A*-B)
Deputy Head Academic, Mr Harry Mackridge, praised the achievements of the class of 2026. He said: “Our outgoing Head, Mr Pearson, was pleased to congratulate many of the cohort in person during his final morning as Head at Christ College Brecon before taking up his new post at Blundell’s School in September.
“We are delighted that more than three quarters of pupils secured firm offers from their first-choice university and were justifiably excited about these ambitious next steps beyond school.
“Well done once again to the pupils on a stellar set of results which provided a fitting reward for their hard work, dedication and effort over two years!”
The results reflect the holistic approach of a Christ College education, with pupils supported to pursue their individual interests and achieve their academic potential alongside a rich programme of co-curricular opportunities.
